Plot: Robin of Locksley and Much return from the Crusade after five years. The two find out that Nottingham has changed a lot under the new Sheriff’s rule, and that things are no better at Locksley, where Guy of Gisborne has been in charge. Robin rebels against the Sheriff by saving four men from being hanged.

Plot: Robin and his friends are captured by Little John’s gang of outlaws. Eventually he is taken to Locksley, where the Sheriff is threatening to cut out tongues if they don’t reveal Robin’s location. Robin gives himself up to save the villagers. Little John finds out he has a son. The outlaws go to rescue Robin, and Robin proves to the Sheriff that he is willing to kill if the Sheriff goes too far.

Plot: An assassin is after the Sheriff, but ends up killing civilians in the process. The Sheriff blames Robin on the murders, but eventually the two work together to find the real culprit. Robin finds out about the Nightwatchman, a mysterious figure who has been helping people in Robin’s absence. The Nightwatchman turns out to be Marian, and together they find out the real assassin’s identity.

Plot: The outlaws find a baby in the forest, and Roy gets captured. The Sheriff threatens to kill his mother if he does not kill Robin. Marian rebels against the Sheriff and gets punished. The baby turns out to be Gisborne’s, and eventually the outlaws go to the castle to rescue both Roy’s and the baby’s mothers. Roy sacrifices himself so that the others can get away.

Plot: After a mining accident that caused the death of several people, the Sheriff is planning to buy slaves to continue the work. The outlaws thwart this plan by destroying the mine and releasing the slaves. One of the slaves, Djaq, joins the gang. Meanwhile Rowan, whose father was killed by Gisborne, plans to get his revenge by killing Marian. He is stopped, and instead Robin helps him win the Sheriff’s silver arrow in an archery contest.

Plot: The outlaws catch a taxman and use him to sneak into the castle to steal tax money. It turns out to be a trap. The Sheriff also gets fooled by a fake abbess. Marian wants to become a nun. The outlaws manage to steal the tax money and use it to help the villagers.

Plot: Thanks to a tattoo on Gisborne’s arm, Robin finds out who was really behind an assassination attempt against King Richard. He becomes obsessed with trying to kill Gisborne. Meanwhile the others try to save Djaq, who has been captured by the Sheriff. They end up trading prisoners, and the Sheriff burns off Gisborne’s tattoo, removing the evidence of his involvement with the assassination attempt.

Plot: Gisborne’s friend, Lambert, refuses to give the Sheriff the location of his Greek fire recipe. He dies in the dungeons, but he manages to tell the recipe’s location to Robin. Much is made a lord, and develops feelings for a serving girl named Eve, who is secretly a spy for the Sheriff. Robin burns the recipe, but Djaq saves it from the fire.

Plot: Having recovered from her wounds received in the previous episode, Marian comes very close to following through on her halfhearted promise to marry Guy of Gisborne, but after Much breaks into the wedding to protest, Marian punches Gisborne at the altar and escapes with Robin instead. While this is occurring, Sheriff Vaisey has hired an impostor of King Richard and stages a mock trial of himself to weed out disloyal nobles, almost resulting in the death of Marian's father. This plan is barely thwarted by Robin's band after Much recognizes the king as a fraud.
