- For the villager from Locksley, see Eleanor.
Queen Eleanor, (also known as Eleanor of Aquitaine), is the Dowager Queen of England, the mother of King Richard and Prince John, and was the wife of King Henry. In the episode "Treasure of the Nation", Robin and his men follow a series of clues in messages from King Richard and rescue her from an abbey on midsummer's day. She shows a quick sense of humor and is very kind to all the gang, showing curiosity about and approval for the Saracen woman Djaq in particular, and seeming to show a special affinity for Little John, whom she repeatedly refers to as "Big Ben". She seems a little bit giddy about being carried over Little John's shoulder when they are running through the forest from the Sheriff of Nottingham and his men, who also intercepted the messages from King Richard — and who were somewhat chagrined to find that the dowager queen is the great "treasure" the messages spoke of.
